How did you both meet and how did the proposal occur?

We met in summer 2021 on Hinge and Charlie proposed in March 2023 outside the Royal Albert Hall.

Charlie hired a secret photographer to capture the moment, so we have some amazing photos of our engagement.

What did you love most about Royal Berkshire?

As soon as you arrive at Royal Berkshire you can see the stunning grounds and country house hotel feel. The walled garden is beautiful and the gardens around the fountain. We also loved the feel of Royal Berkshire once you step inside and all the different spaces for our wedding which you can make your own.

Dominika was so welcoming from the start which played a part in choosing Royal Berkshire for our wedding day.

Did you have a theme or particular style for the day?

We wanted a traditional English wedding but with our own personalities coming through. There were hints of Taylor Swift, Lord of the Rings, a 7 tier pavlova for our wedding cake and a casino in the evening.

Tell us all about the outfits...

Trudy walked down the aisle to The Princess Diaries so it was only fitting to have a princess dress with tiara!

Charlie and his groomsmen wore morning suits which fitted so well with Royal Berkshire and the style of our wedding.

What do you remember most about the day itself?

How incredibly special it is to have all of your family and friends in one place and seeing them all be so happy for you. It is a feeling you have never experienced before.

Everything was perfect and the happiest memories, from getting ready, to the ceremony to the food and speeches, to the last song and everything in between. I’d recommend having a couple of 5 minute moments to just sit as a newly married couple and take it all in.

Were there any special moments or surprises?

After our surprise 7 tier pavlova cake cutting, we had our first dance. We learnt the dance from Saturday Night Fever “More Than a Woman” which everyone loved and made for something unexpected.

What tips or advice would you give to future couples?

Enjoy the planning, people will try and give their opinions and advice, but it is your wedding day so plan it the way that you would like to.

Don’t stress if it rains, we had rain on ours and wouldn’t have it any other way – it also meant we had some great photos.

Also use the venue’s recommended suppliers, they know the venue well, where the best photos are taken and where to place the décor.
